Before and After. Porsche 993 (1994-1998) VS. 992 (2019):

 The porsche 993 was offered in multiple variants: The 911 Carrera Coupe / Cabriolet model, Targa, Turbo, Turbo S, Carrera 4S, Carrera S, Carrera RS, GT2, Speedster, Turbo Cabriolet. For 2019 the 992 will only be offered in Carrera S and Carrera 4S variants. The 993 used air cooled boxer engines from 3.6 to 3.8 liters including the Turbo versions. The 3.6-liter engine delivered 268 HP and the 3.8-liter version had 281 HP, the Turbo variant had 402 HP and the Turbo S up to 450 HP. The Transmissions were the following: Tiptronic Automatic 4 speed, Manual 5 speed and Manual 6 Speed. The performance in the 993 in the Carrera Coupe / Cabriolet was 0-62 mph (0-100 km / h) in 5.6 sec. and Maximum Speed of 168 mph (270 km / h), in the Turbo version of 0-62 mph in 4.5 sec. with Maximum Speed of 180 mph (290 km / h) according to the manufacturer’s data.

In the Porsche 992 uses a motor cooled by water of 6 cylinders flat of 3.0 lts. With Double Turbo capable of generating 444 HP @ 6,500 Rpm, it uses a dual-clutch automatic gearbox called PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) with 8 speeds. Its performance is in the Carrera S from 0-62 mph (0-100 km / h) in 3.7 seconds. As a Fun Fact in 2018 Porsche created a project called “Project Gold” which took a 993 Turbo S of the 345 produced at that time, restored it from scratch and painted it with the famous “Golden Yellow Metallic” the same one that uses the 911 Turbo S Exclusive series. Porsche Classic technicians mounted a 3.8 liter engine with 450 HP and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The restoration work lasted 18 months and then sold at auction for $ 3,415,000.
